Although Staff Planner contains no monetary aspects, some information will be confidential or private. Ability to update information also needs to be restricted.

Staff Planner therefore comes with four different login levels. The administrator can (optionally) set passwords for each level.

  • User - general access - users can only display, print and save (to a separate file) the Planning Board.
  • Level 1 - access as set by the administrator - Planning Board & View Overtime and/or View Reports.
  • Level 2 - as Level 1, allowing for flexibility of access rights.
  • Administrator - Full access to Planning Board, Overtime, Reports & Staff Cover.

    In addition, only the administrator can update and maintain the Staff Planner data, change setup options and change passwords - see Administration.

  • For levels User, Level 1 and Level 2, the file is opened in read-only mode, allowing many staff access at the same time (Excel makes a read-only copy of the file). This makes the Staff Planner a semi-multiuser application. If more than one Administrator is logged in at the same, only the first will have read-write access and be able to save changes.
